Royal Enfield, an Indian motor vehicle giant (Eicher Motor) acquiring Italian super bike maker Ducati soon. Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director & CEO of Eicher Motor said that they are interested to tie up with Ducati if it comes at the right value and provides the best fit within its own branding.
According to Reuters, at present Eicher Motors sales (units) approx 6.7 lakh whereas Ducati has 55,451 sales in 2016. Royal Enfield products (between 350cc & 535cc): Bullet, Thunderbird, Classic, Himalayan, Continental GT priced at Rs. 1.2 lakh – 2.4 lakh.and Ducati products (mainly between 800cc & 1,200 cc):: Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster, Multistrada, Superbike, Super sport, priced between Rs. 7 lakh – 1.12cr in India.
Ducati, owned by Germany’s embattled Volkswgen group which could fetch a valuation about 1.5 billion euros (approx Rs. 10,500 crore) according to estimates.
Royal Enfield a part of Eicher Motors has been growing in India which has tie-up with Sweden’s Volvo for heavy commercial vehicles and American manufacturer Polaris for personal utility vehicles.
